Placer Hills Union Families,

The Placer Hills Union School District is pleased to welcome new and returning students and their families to the 2018-19 school year. There are many exciting things occurring at PHUSD and I hope you and your family are ready for the incredible year ahead. As your new Superintendent I could not be more excited to join the Placer Hills team!

This summer was very productive with a team of administrators who attended the International Baccalaureate Conference. At this conference we learned about the process and steps the District will take in order to bring this programme to our schools. We were pleased to find that there are already many great things in place to support the International Baccalaureate Programme. The programme will start at Weimar Hills School with the intent of bringing it to Sierra Hills School in the coming years. By bringing this rigorous, student-centered approach of teaching to our students we will be ensuring that the District reaches its mission of educating students to be contributing, global citizens in the 21st century.

Our committed team of teachers, staff, and administrators have an outstanding year planned! Here are a few highlights of what you can expect: we have continued to bring Spanish to all our students, our technology ratio is approximately 1:1 at Weimar Hills School, and a new track has been installed at Sierra Hills School. The staff will further their training on advanced implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, as well as enhance our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support that addresses all aspects of student learning, including academic, behavior and social and emotional issues.

I will be visiting school sites regularly throughout the school year to assure our best is being presented. I am looking forward to making a personal connection with our students and families in an effort to build a partnership that will ensure each school and every student succeeds.

If I can be of any assistant to your family during the school year, please don’t hesitate to contact my office at 530.878.2606 or email to

Respectfully Yours,

Julie Kehoe
